Naval Electro Optical Tracking and Fire Control System
The 2500 is a compact, lightweight electro optical system designed
for high precision, long range, target tracking, ballistic prediction and
weapon control within the naval environment. The system provides efficient
and comprehensive control of small and medium calibre naval gun mountings
in anti-air, surface and shore bombardment engagements and can be used as
a remote observation and tracking sensor for navigation and surveillance
purposes.
Using standard modules from our well established range of military electro
optical systems, over one hundred of which have been sold to customers
worldwide, including UK MOD, System 2500 offers a mature, proven,
reliable and cost effective solution to any naval fire control requirement.
System 2500 comprises an electro optical director and a compact
suite of below decks support electronics.
Electro Optical Director
The electro
optical director is located in a prominent above decks location such as
the bridge roof or mast, and comprises a dual axis, stabilised, precision
direct drive director fitted with a suite of electro optical sensors.
These sensors are selected from a wide range, subject to operational requirements,
and normally comprise a TV camera, thermal imager and high prf eye-safe
laser rangefinder. As an indication of performance, a fast attack aircraft
can be detected at ranges in excess of 20km night or day.
System Electronics
A director support unit containing the servo amplifiers and processors
is located in a sheltered below decks position in close proximity to the
director.
A compact cabinet containing the system control and communication processors
and power conditioning circuits is located below decks in any suitable
equipment position.
